Wanna Be

I want to be a "real" blogger, I really do. I think I'm just a stalker though. I keep finding blogs I love to read. They inspire me to think about things in different ways, to appreciate things overlooked. They also validate some of my feelings about mothering and life. I have a zillion stories of my own floating around inside my brain but I cannot seem to get past being freaked out by how publicly accessible things are on the internet. I always feel a bit dishonest when I do post something because there are so many layers being left our for the sake of privacy. If anyone ever looks at this post, and if you are a blogger, how do you find the courage to be so honest? So vulnerable to an unknown audience? And even more so, knowing that people you know are reading, do you not feel so exposed?

I think I'm going to post a little more often this year. We'll see...

Who cares what others "think"?!? As far as I know I only have one boss to answer to and He already knows what I am or am not thinking :) Go ahead and share more and print out the blog. I keep mine as a great keepsake for my children in years to come.

It's not so much what anyone thinks, I'm just not sure I can write in a vulnerable way (an honest way) without feeling very exposed personally and also, without offending/hurting some of the people I love. I'm going to post about it actually - this dilemma - we'll see where it goes.

That is a key aspect and I think one any good blogger has to ask. Some share too much and others not enough. I don't have a mission statement for my blog but I did read and talk with others enough to determine I wanted it to be:

1. Writing and links that are positive, thoughtful and humorous.

2. Based on me and my journey expressed in an authentic way.

3. Directed to my community with a desire to build it up and connect people.

I let the controversial stuff stay on others blogs and I blog there when it comes to more controversial pieces. I've had people be critical that I'm not vocal on controversy. My feeling is that I live in the USA and I vote so I am never silent.

Go with your heart. I think you've got a great blog started already. I would encourage you to take time to write everyday, whether you post or not. It is good practice and will help.

Loving Life!

I hit publish and then I run for cover. Sometimes it works, and other times I get clobbered!
